​To be eligible:
  • Teacher must be a full-time, active, certified STEM teacher (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) participating at the SDC
  • Spend the majority of the school day involved in direct instruction to students
  • Be skilled in implementing effective teaching strategies
  • Be active with the Science Days Challenge and/or Science Days Global 
  • Be able to inspire students in STEM-related topics
  • Show involvement and leadership in student-related extra-curricular activities
  • Be respected by students, parents, and co-workers
We are looking for teachers who are:
  • Innovators – Unique ways to educate students to develop a curiosity in the STEM fields.
  • Outstanding – A true passion for STEM education
  • Engaging – Motivates students to see that STEM is all around us
  • Beyond Academic – Inspire students in the classroom, preparing them for education and careers outside the classroom
Anyone, including oneself, can nominate a deserving SDC teacher.
The SDC STEM Educator of the Year Committee will review all of the nominations and will select a finalist to be interviewed in late November 2020. Once the interview process is complete, a winner is selected.
